Bandilyo Abaknon

With the release of the results of the December 2010 National Licensure Examination for Nurses, Abaknons again got a fair share of beaming passers. They belong to the 29,711 who made it from a batch of 84,287. The passing rate of 35.25% was one of the lowest in recent years. (Note: Apologies. This was supposed to be posted weeks ago.) What started out as a street party cum karaoke session in Tangnga one New Year's Day seven years ago has became a traditional event. It has become a moment of thanksgiving for the neighborhood and an occasion to revel and enjoy each others' company. It has become a fiesta of sorts - with the celebration of the Mass and with hermanas and hermanos to boot. For this year, the sponsors were the families of PO3 & Mrs. Nonong Saluib Mr. Richie Enecillo, RN and Mr. Mervin Cabacang.
