Capul From Non-Natives' Eyes


Two of my recent site visitors were two foreigner guests of Capul.

Apparently, they have had good impressions on the island and they are promoting it to prospective investors.

They created sites, featuring Samar, and had specific pages for Capul. They are as follows:

    promdiisland pagkahalap pa ba si bungto ta kam oi, comments on that links padi aryo, ang ganda ng camera nya as in detalyado talaga hehehe!!! on a serious note may ? lang ako alam ba ng local goverment ito? the way i see it parang "for sale" nisip ko lang naman yan..

    promdiisland: im not against promoting si bungto ta kam coz that translate to "jobs, business opp." pero sana visible ang local goverment the link on how to inquire.

    Peter & Jane, why do you want the future of the Capulanons to be poor, low educated and suffering from corruption, they deserve a chance to success the same as any other persons, they and many others are people that would like to eat, buy clothes and not live in Poverty, so if you would like to help, how about sending them some money, to help them? We are sure you have a nice dinner, place to sleep, money for education, you are outvoted, especially by the people we already help... Thanx for the comments, but please, think of the losses here without the help they ask for................

The proper term should have been "La Estudiantina Capuleña". This dance is simply called Estudiantina in the other towns in Samar where it is also popular. The dance could have derived its name from "estudiantina" which is the all-string band that plays the dance music in the many 'baylihan' during the Spanish colonial period. Tribu Mananguete: Landusan Boys

This was one of the entries for the school-based category. Coming from the Landusan National High School, the team was composed mainly of boys. Coached by Mr. Oniel Pelito, they wore coconut leaves woven like skirts as they simulated the tuba-gatherers. This group proved to be the most colorful and playful of the lot.
