Atty. Reo S. Andarino

  •  
  • Second in a brood of five of Samuel P. Andarino and Nilda F. Sauro.  Born September 20, 1969.
  •  Currently the Department Manager of Landbank's Overseas Remittance Marketing and Support Department.
  •  
  • Prior to this, he was the Chief Representative to the Landbank Rep Office in Tokyo, Japan (from 2008 to 2012). He at the same time handled the operations in South Korea.
  •  A veteran in the global remittance industry, he has led key initiatives that improved his Bank's operational efficiencies and increased customer reach worldwide. He is recognized as a marketing and negotiations expert and an authority in international banking operations - particularly on cross-border payments and related services to overseas Filipinos.
  • He  introduced and facilitated the entry of Landbank to the Eurogiro network - a worldwide cross-border payments system that links postal organizations and Banks.  This allowed Landbank to reach a greater number of clients in Japan, So. Korea, Thailand and other parts of the globe.  Also established correspondent banking relations with Shinhan Bank to further serve the needs of OFWs in So. Korea.
  • Has worked with the Landbank of the Philippines since 1993; previous assignments include being the Landbank Chief Representative to Taiwan, Head of the Domestic Marketing Unit of the Global Banking Department and Cooperative Development Officer in charge of the Visayas.
  • Also worked as full-time College Instructor at the Lyceum of the Philippines Communication Arts Department from 1991 to 1993 and did some part-time stints later.  His first job was as Legislative Staff Officer at the Philippine Senate, Office of Senator Sotero H. Laurel.

    ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL MILESTONES

     ·      Took Grade School at the Capul Central Elementary School;  consistent first honors from Grade one to Grade 5 and graduated Valedictorian of Batch ’82.

    ·      Went to Milagrosa Academy in Calbayog City for First Year High School where he topped the Entrance Exam and finished First Honors.

    ·   Transferred to Capul Agricultural and Industrial School from 2nd Year onwards where he was consistently First Honors and graduated Valedictorian of Batch 1986.

    He was entered in the 1986 Who’s Who in Philippine High Schools; Garnered the highest-ever CAIS score for the NCEE (99%); First CAIS student to win 3 gold medals in the Regional Secondary Schools Press Conference and was regular competitor in oratorical competitions and inter-school quiz bees.

    While in third year HS, he was elected as the Municipal Kabataang Barangay Chairman and Provincial KB Vice Chairman. The death of the Provincial Chairman in 1985 would have made him a Provincial Board Member for the Youth, but the change of political tides did not allow this to push through.

    ·      Went to the Lyceum of the Philippines for College (instead of UP Tacloban which was his UPCAT choice) where he took Mass Communications. He was a consistent scholar and Dean’s Lister and eventually graduated Cum Laude in 1990 with a GWA of 1.47. He was that year's Student Achievement Awardee, in recognition of his being the 1989 National Rizal Quiz Grand Champion, Student Editor of The Lyceum (school paper), Editor-in-Chief of The Lycaean (university annual) and Features Editor of the Lyceum Independent Sentinel. He was also awarded the AMA Foundation Award for Academic Excellence in Communications, the Rotary Club of Intramuros Award for Outstanding Group Leadership and was the University Nominee to the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines. He was also the undefeated University History Quiz Champion from 1st year to 3rd year, an officer of the Student Council, Member of the Lyceum Debating Society, the Lyceum Scholastic Society and the Bulwagang Tanglaw which performed plays at the CCP (played the lead role in their adaptation of Rolando Tinio's "May Katwiran ang Katwiran").

    ·      Took his Masters in Communication from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines from 1991-1993 where he had the chance to study film under acclaimed director Ishmael Bernal.

    ·   While working, he decided to take-up Law in 2002 at the Adamson University. He became a consistent Dean’s Lister and Iskolar ni Magsaysay grantee.  He graduated in 2006, as Class Valedictorian, despite being a part-time student.

    ·      He took the 2006 Bar Examinations and passed.

    ·   In 2009, he attended the International Legal Relationships Course at the Temple University, Tokyo Campus.

      
    CIVIL SERVICE ELIGIBILITY

    ·      Passed the Third Level Career Service Executive Eligibility (CSEE) on October 14, 1998

    ·  Civil Service eligible pursuant to R.A. 1080 (Bar Examination); Passed: Career Service Professional Eligibility in July 1989


    OTHER PERSONAL INFO

    ·      Has traveled to the US, Thailand, China (Shanghai), Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Hongkong, India, Poland, Italy and Spain.

    ·     A photography enthusiast, he dreams of publishing a coffee table book on the scenic sites of Capul.

    ·      Was one of the featured writers in the Philippine Daily Inquirer’s Youngblood 2.0, a compilation of the best works published in its Youngblood section.
