Here's what Heli wrote me:

"Hi no Reo.Kumusta na kaw? I would like to share these pictures taken during the concert of Sarah Geronimo last March 4,2007 here in Edmonton. I was her personal bodyguard too.

Ako permi ato nagparaala bodyguard kon niya mga artista tikang Pilipinas. On March 30 padaito kas Pops Fernandez and Kuh Ledesma ako namay nagala bodyguard na mga iya. I'll send you some pix.

Kumusta na hamok si dimuan pati si pamilya bi. Agkaralipay gad kami ato kay akaisip kaw sito paganna website para si mga abaknon. Mahaya salamat si kaaw. God Bless YOU. "

Thank you very much Heli. I'm happy that this site is getting the attention of Capuleños from all over. Please help me spread the word so that more will send their pics and messages.

I hope you're all okay there. How I wish I'd have the time and resources to visit you one of these days. :-)

But huge it may have been, it was not able to steal the thunder away from the real stars of the show - the street performers. This group won Best in Costume and Best in Performance Showcase for the barangay-based competition.

Editorial: A Future For Sale

Note: This post is the Administrator's take on how the recent elections went. Fair comments are welcome. From how I saw it, it was indeed an impressive election. It definitely was more peaceful than the most recent ones. Automation made the process exciting (or worrisome) but at the same time challenging. Truly, it was heartwarming to see people brave the punishing summer heat and the tiring wait just to be able to cast their votes. There is no doubt in my mind that the results reflected the Abaknons’  true democratic will. However, why they voted for whom is an entirely different issue.  I wish to think that in the final analysis, they did vote with the thought of what’s best for Capul. But even with that, any voter who receives money during election time still compromises his vote.  While I do not wish to rob the winners of the glory of their victory, I bet that the aftertaste of their win would have been much sweeter if they (again, i mean ALL of them) did not gi...
